Friday evening we were invited to Salzwedel to enjoy the warm hospitality of Karl Heinz and his wife Carmen . They grilled pork and sausages for us and served delicious potato salad, garden salad and homemade slaw. Combined with lots of excellent German beer and wine and we were almost too full to enjoy viewing the Blood Moon Eclipse. Cloud cover blocked our view until we headed home and got to Atelier Haus just in time to see the moon start to emerge from the shadow. For most of us that marked the second full eclipse this year, one of the sun and this one of the moon! Let’s hope that these are good omens.
Earlier on Friday I had finished building the flask for my stone and rammed the first mold section, so I was happy to have the Lodestone Project for Bill underway. Unfortunately, the mold didn’t cure properly which Kurt attributed to having used the left over resin from last year. We decided to let the mold sit overnight and if it had not set up properly to switch to the new resin and catalyst that was purchased for this year’s symposium.
Our Friday social event combined with plenty of beer resulted in no post on the blog.
