It’s June 11, Casting Day for the Iron/Stone Symposium. Three days of de-vesting, cleaning up , repairing furnace & ladles and general preparation after the first pour and we are good to go. The crane will arrive this AM and Tamsie and Paige’s molds will be repositioned. The crane will then proceed into the park to prepare sites for the sculptures while everything is organized for the pour. We are hoping to get an earlier start today than we did last Saturday. The sooner we are through pouring, the sooner artists can begin preparing their casting for installation. My stone has been selected and I am ready to install.
A great deal of my wood mold survived the pour so I am thinking of using the remains for the performance molds that I need to make for Mid-summer night .
“Iron Lightening” ready for installation. I spent many hours yesterday grinding the pin to fit the stone. Let’s hope it fits!
Ojars gave me a beautiful stone. It looks as though struck by lightening. The top is cleft into three sections with a pronounced ridge between the sections. I drilled at the very top for the lightening bolt. Hope to install today!
Have to go get ready. Will post again when I can. Expect many images on Facebook, Pedvale website and Conference website later today. Keep following. Cheers.
How large is the lighting bolt? It looks really huge in photographs!
